I had a great time with my friend, Nicole, aka"cool b", who was here for a few days! She and I have been great friends since we worked together in Bakersfield back in the day. On our days off we used to hop in my crappy old Ford Aspire or her crappy old Ford Escort, pick a random direction and drive (sometimes to where the streets have no names). Usually we did not have a destination. We had some pretty crazy adventures together! Back then we didn't have cell phones or even maps for that matter. We did have a portable cd player that plugged into our tape deck, though! We loved listening (and singing at the top of our lungs) to our cd's of Alanis, Chumbawamba, Simon and Garfunkel, U2 and Prince. But now it's 2006! We have a GPS, Satellite Radio and cell phones with internet access! "How is it you have all this, but don't have power locks and windows?" Asks Cool B. Yeah, the crappy Ford element is still present! Though it's a newer Focus rather than my old Aspire that didn't seem to even aspire to be a real car. This week we took to the streets again!

We met some interesting characters... His joke wasn't really worth the dollar! :)

We found hard boiled eggs pizza! mmmm!
This sign was funny no matter how many of them we saw.
We did some serious shopping! Nic went a little crazy in the Keys!
She even got a tattoo on her ankle!
We had a fantastic dinner in Key West at sunset!
Here's our waiter CARDING us! Woohoo! We still look under 21! Or, maybe he spotted us laughing at the doggie pooper scooper sign, hard boiled egg pizza, paying a street bum to tell us a dirty joke or---
---witnessed this escapade and thought 'no way are these girls over 20'! (I could go on, but I should stop while we're BEHIND)

The wine was great, but...
Someone had problems eating her lobster pasta. Seriously, how do you eat this?
And thus concludes another cool b adventure. By the way, we sound so much like Alanis Morissette when we sing it's scary!

Today is our 1st wedding anniversary! I can't believe it's been a year already! I know you all want to see lots of pictures and relive our perfect day and perfect honeymoon, right? :)
We were married at Caesars Palace March 26th, 2005 at 3:30 in the afternoon...
The weather was a gorgeous 74 degrees and sunny... Our family and friends surrounded us..
Here's my Uncle Neil, Aunt Nancy, Great Aunt Agnes, Dad, Mom, Grandma Lola and Brother John.
Here's Daves Brother, Keith, Sister Kim, Dad, Sue, Mom, Marty, Sister Pam, and Sister Amy.

Here's me and the girls! Malissa (left) and I have been friends since highschool and are busy planning quite an adventure right now! Nicole (right) and I worked together in Bakersfield, CA and are going to have quite an adventure this week as I'm picking her up at the airport in less than 24 hours!
We had the best flower girls in the history of flower girls! Our neices, Cydney and Sawyer! So adorable!
Our wedding was also the 'best reunion ever!'. This is our tv news family from channel 13 (Vegas). I think there are maybe 3 of them in this picture who still work there. It was an unbelievable get together. This crew actually put together some shorts (movies) about how Dave and I met, rented a suite, a projector and big screen and threw us a co-ed film fest/ bachelor/bachelorette party! They are so full of talent!
We honeymooned in Italy! It was so wonderful! We went to Venice, Florence, and Rome. We took one of our Rome days and took a train to the villiage where my Great Grandparents came from about 100 years ago to America. Fossato Di Vicco! It's absolutely gorgeous... It was amazing to stand at the train station knowing that my Great Grandparents probably stood in the same spot all those decades ago (the station looked as though it had been there since the beginning of time!). While there we looked up 'Moriconi' in a phonebook and showed up at one of their doorsteps. I showed them my ID and tried to explain (they spoke Italian only. I, uhm, don't.). But they understood and bellowed "Moriconi! America!" and invited us in. My long lost cousins spent the day showing us around Umbria, drinking wine and eating meats and cheeses. They were wonderful people! Guess it's in the blood, right? ;P
We missed our connecting flight in Paris on the way back and got stuck there for a day! As you can see, it was pretty tough getting stuck in Paris. Thanks to everyone who made our wedding the best day of our lives!

Woohoo! I am officially the first E-Wink Caption Contest winner! Here's my official 'Crappy Trophy'. A few days ago E-Wink posted the following picture for captioning:

My caption: "I know it's big breaking news! I'm driving as fast as I can!"

Thanks, Erin! You should all check out his blog. He works in Vegas, but he started after my time. He's totally into StarTrek and 24 and why didn't you move to vegas years ago, dude?

Speaking of 24...

.....Tony Almeida rocks..... This is a spoiler free website (most of the time) so that's all I'm sayin.

I finally recieved photos of Gary's cats: Princess and Buckles!

Aren't they sweet! That's princess sticking her tongue out. Notice she has a white tipped tail! Buckles (on the flower pot) looks a lot like Hartman...or maybe Princess looks more like Hartman?:

Finally, I have some time to blog! Look at me! Don't I look tired? I've been super busy lately. I can't tell you what I did today, though. It's classified. No, really. I had to sign a non-disclosure agreement and therefore if I blog about it-- I get sued. Now you really want to know what I've been up to, huh. :)
Okay, so I can't blog about today, but I have a whole weeks worth of adventures to catch you up on.
So last night my reporter and I pull up to a strip club in our live truck so we can use the night club across the street as a backdrop. As soon as I get out of the truck....IT begins:

Drunk Guy#1: Heeeeeey!
Me: ...Hello.
Drunk Guy#2: Hey so are you the intern?
Me: Yeah, I'm the intern.
Drunk Guy#1: How long have you been interning?
Me: 10 years.
Drunk Guy#1: What???
Drunk Guy#3: You have pretty eyes.
Drunk Guy#2: 10 years!? So like, have you got your degree yet??
Drunk Guy#3: You have pretty eyes.
Drunk Guy#1: When will you graduate??!
Me: It's going to be a long night for me here, isn't it?

That's the best part of this gig-- ya never know where you're going to be on any given day or what nutcase you're going to meet. Though granted, the above characters were not psychos, they were just drunk. If you want psycho you'll have to read on further down.
But first-- on Saturday night I was doing a live shot across the street from a house where somebody was gunned down. We were 3 stories in at 10pm. At 10 straight up--THIS HAPPENED:

The sprinklers went off!! And take a look--these shouldn't even qualify as "sprinklers". These are clearly high powered geysers!

I got nailed! This photo was taken after I'd had some time to dry. Luckily my camera was fine. The geyser mostly hit me and not my $30,000 camera. We made the shot fine, but we had to move quick!

I've been working a lot lately. I'm working though my weekend this week and worked half my weekend the week before and the week before that and the week before that and the week before that... I know when I've been working a bit much because that's when the work dreams start up. The night before the geyser, I had a dream I was driving a live truck in a shopping center at night looking for a place to park for a live shot. I found my spot, but when I pressed the brakes, they didn't work! The brakes not only didn't stop the truck, but in fact, increased it's velocity to upwards of 60 mph. And here's where it get's really good-- There's a cliff at the end of the shopping center parking lot! You know, all those cliffs at the end of shopping centers in Florida? ha. So I decide to abandon ship. Of course, I couldn't get my seat belt to unbuckle. Cliche, I know. I'm dissapointed in my subconcious mind, too. At the last possible second, I was able to free myself and jump out of the truck-- only, I jumped in slow motion and floated through the air and lightly landed on my feet. I'm pretty sure the slo-mo bit was from watching the Stargate SG-1 season finale--twice-- before bed. :) The last 15 minutes of SG-1 was AWESOME!! I wish I had screencaps of the space battle. And now we have to wait til JULY to see the second part!

Okay, I know I promised you psychos. So here it goes. Check out this psycho who just hopped into my truck:

Haha! Just kidding, Harlan. I guess I'll find out if you read my blog. :) Harlan works across town and always hops in the passenger seat of my car to discuss books, movies, near death experiences in Puerto Rico and how I kick his butt at bowling. The day this picture was taken, I was covering a story about people getting sick on a cruise ship. We always go live from Watson Island to cover stories on cruise ships, the Port, and well... whenever you need a nice generic Miami background. The sun had set by the time we wrapped up our live shot. I was parked parallel to the water (you know, media parking). I put up all the gear, hopped in the truck, started the engine, turned on the lights----then some guy pulls up right in front of my truck! I pause, wondering why on earth he is doing this... Then I see he is real angry and cursing at us and trying to shield his eyes from the bright light of my headlights. How bizarre? I determine there is still room for me to squeeze by him and as I pass I get a real nice look at one psychotic piece o'work. My reporter and I laughed and I gave thanks to the blog gods. I wish I had a picture.
This post will have to be continued later.. My chinese food has arrived! :)

Amy's here! Yay! We picked her up at MIA last night.

Amy and Hartman meet! Or... is it Zartman, Hartman's crazy alter-ego?

It's Hartman! (lucky for you, Amy). :)

Here's part four of our Burning Man Documentary. This is where you get to see the man burn! Watching this again really makes me want to goto burning man this year. Too bad it happens in late August/early September. I'm sure we have a hurricane scheduled for that week.

BURNING MAN PART FOUR:
